I am tough on pecially a sequel to a film I love as much as The Shining. But I gotta say this was very good. It just wasn't marketed well and came out at an odd time in early November after Halloween and well before the holidays. Most teens and 20 somethings didn't grow up on the Shining and that demographic is mostly who sees horror films at the theatre. It was kind of a mix of horror, drama, and a character study and even had some legitimately moving moments as well. The scenes of Danny comforting the hospice patients and also the scene between Danny and Jack at the hotel were terrific. I found it very moving that Danny still loved his father even after everything that happened at the Overlook. It is sad that films like this that have substance go unnoticed and these corny superhero films make a billion dollars.

I saw this trailer in theaters and watched The Shining for the first time that very night. There's so much suspense in this trailer that I just had to know what this was about and now I love this series.
